Atheist Longhorns is a registered social student organization of the University of Texas at Austin. Our mission is to promote a positive view of atheism, campus and community wide, through volunteering, charity, and participation in community and campus activities. We promote and strive for freedom from religion for every individual, and support critical and skeptical thought in every topic. Atheist Longhorns respects all individuals' beliefs, and we hope to gain respect of our position through our peaceful actions.

January 27th (Tuesday) is the first meeting of Atheist Longhorns for the Spring 2009 semester! We'll kick off the semester with some info about the group, announcements of some upcoming activities, and group discussion where everyone can meet.
We have discussions on various topics during the weekly meetings, and we'll attend various events and exhibits around campus as a group such as the Ransom Center, the Blanton Art Museum, and more! Come prepared with discussion topics and project ideas!
Membership is $5/semester, and you must be a student/faculty/staff of UT Austin to join.
We will have a general weekly meeting every Tuesday starting 01/27 from
6-7:30m in Welch Room 3.260. (No meeting during spring break of course!) Our last
meeting of the semester is scheduled for 05/05/09 and we'll resume official meetings
after the summer break.

Our new Keep Austin Beautiful Street Cleanup sign has been installed and our first clean up was February 28th, 2009! We'll do street cleaning throughout the semesters and help keep our campus and community clean. Thanks to all of you who participate!
